Moringa oleifera or drumstick, a drought-resistant tree belongs to the family Moringaceae. It is native to tropical regions of South Asia and India is the largest producer of the drumstick with an annual production of 1-1.3 million tonnes of fruits. It is also grown in other Asian countries like the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Malaysia Indonesia and Taiwan, the World Centre of Vegetable Research.
